Nick Yapp spent 27 years as a teacher (seven of them as part-time writer) before becoming a full-time writer and broadcaster in 1988.

He has written over 26 books (genres include humour, non fiction, sport, children's fiction), has scripted and/or appeared on over 60 programmes for Radio 2, 30 programmes for Radio 5 and a handful for Radio 3, he has also written 15 short stories which were broadcast on Radio 4 and much much more.
